DEZMYTH began with a dream carried across continents. Born in Banjul, Gambia in August 1998, our founder arrived in Torrance County, Los Angeles at just three years old. Growing up in LA until age 13, he developed a deep love for coffee and music before his family moved to Spokane, Washington – a city that would eventually become home to his vision.

Before DEZMYTH became the coffee destination it is today, this space told a different story. At 16, our founder began supplying equipment to small local venues, learning the heartbeat of Spokane's creative scene. By the time he discovered this building, the vision was clear: create a space where all ages could gather for curated concerts and connection. Though funding challenges paused that chapter, they opened the door to something even more meaningful – a coffee shop where barista craft meets community spirit.

Today, DEZMYTH is more than specialty coffee, bubble waffle sandwiches, and signature lotus drinks. It's a gathering place built on humble beginnings and sustained by the belief that community thrives through shared passions. Every cup we pour, every event we host, every conversation we spark honors the journey that brought us here – and the neighbors, friends, and music lovers who make Spokane home.
